MariElena Granger grew up in Mexico City where she became familiar with curanderas (healers) and brujas. She has traveled extensively to observe the indigenous healing practices in Mexico, Guatemala, Central America, Eastern and Western Europe, Russia, Southeast Asia, India, and Africa. MariElena trained at The Option Institute and Fellowship in the Mentoring Program and at The Autism Treatment Center of America. In Dharamsala, India, she studied with Yugesh, a spiritual leader, and with his holiness the Dalhi Lama. She also studied with Jean Houston and Peggy Rubin at Mystery School and Peggy Rubin at Sacred Theatre. She has studied intuitive life awareness with Angel Gail Konz. She is the mother of two fabulous sons.
MariElena created a rehabilitation program for brain injured adults, based on the Option Institute Method. She has also worked with autistic children and young adults. MariElena was and elementary school teacher in both bilingual and English-only classrooms. She assisted Spanish and French speaking families after the September 11th World Trade Center attack. In Dharamsala, India she provided rehabilitation for policemen who were addicted to drugs and alcohol. She coached teams of elementary students in critical thinking and problem solving skills. She worked as a color consultant for Harvard University and for the 2004 Rock The Vote bus tour.
